Thai Food @ Golden Mile Complex
$10.00

The first few floors of Golden Mile Complex feels a lot more like Bangkok than it does Singapore, with everything from convenience stores and grocery marts to restaurants having a major Thai theme. The audience fits the bill as well, with most staff as well as clientele being authentic natives from Thailand.

There are many Thai restaurants in the building, with Diandin Leluk being our favorite by far (#01-67, the big restaurant in the centre of the ground floor, next to the stairwell). The runner up would be Beerthai House Restaurant, which is located in the back corner of the building's ground floor (through the corridor on the right if you are facing Diandin Leluk). Both options have bang-for-your-buck $5 rice and meat plates for a quick and cheap option, as well as a plethora of ala-carte dishes suitable to be shared between groups of 2 or more.

There are also a number of mookata (Thai BBQ) restaurants on the ground floor, but those seem to be priced in the $15-20 range.

  • The individual sets are a great value at $5-6, and include a good amount of both rice and meat to make for a fulfilling meal. The garlic pork (pictured), diced basil pork/chicken/beef, and green curry chicken fried rice are my favorites.

  • I never really ate Thai food that often in the past, but having such great choices just under my office has converted me to a big fan! The consensus favorite amongst my friends is Diandin Luluk, with our typical dishes being the green/red curry chicken ($12), pineapple rice ($12), tom yum soup ($12), and mango sticky rice ($6). Beware the food coma after stuffing yourself with all the delicious and flavorful food!

  • I love mango sticky rice, and both Diandian Leluk and Beerthai offer a great rendition of it for about $6.
