db Bistro & Oyster Bar
$42.00

Named after Chef Daniel Boulud, db Bistro & Oyster Bar offers four unique New York burgers in a classy setting at The Shoppes @ Marina Bay Sands. The upscale restaurant serves their burgers with a bread basket starter, a trio of individually sauces on the side (ketchup, garlic aioli, and sweet chilli mustard), as well as a large tin of fries.

The Original db Burger ($42++) is the signature dish, featuring a sirloin burger patty filled with braised short ribs and foie gras atop a parmesan bun. The Yankee Burger ($23++) comes with a beef patty, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and onion served on a sesame bun (cheddar cheese or bacon can be added for an additional $5). The Frenchie Burger ($27++) has a beef patty topped with confit pork belly, caramelised onions, morbid cheese, arugula, coronations, and a black pepper bun. Lastly, the Veggie Burger ($29++) comes with herb falafel, spice-roasted eggplant, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and tzatziki on a sesame bun.

  • I ordered the Frenchie: I added $5 bacon which were worse than Burger King's turkey bacon. It was basically a piece of thin charcoal, extremely dry. Beef patty was dry as well, i ordered it done medium and it came medium well. Only saving grace was the fries and garlic sauce that made the beef less dry.

  • The flavors of the DB original really weren't hitting the spot and for the crazy price tag, it really did feel like they were putting in all sorts of expensive ingredients but failing to summon any harmony between them. Pretty much a let-down as my other 4 dining companions agreed (we bought into the hype so much that each of us had one!)

  • I had the Frenchie, and certainly enjoyed it but possibly felt they over complicated it a little. Nothing wrong but nothing memorable at 27SGD I feel there are more special burgers out there. The restaurant is nice, service good and took in to account we were in slight rush to make the show.

  • I'd heard good things about the burgers at DB Bistro so was excited to try it before going to a play at the MBS Theatre opposite the restaurant. The atmosphere at DB Bistro is one of fine dining and the service matches the high standards set. I went for their Frenchie Burger and thought the meat was excellent. I also really enjoyed the three accompanying sauces that came alongside the burger and crispy fries. While it was a delicious meal I was hoping for just a little more unique flavour.
