10. My Birthday @ Tokyo DisneySea

The last full day of our trip was also my birthday, and we celebrated with a trip to Tokyo DisneySea. Lucky for us it wasn't too crowded, and we were able to go on all of the rides we wanted, including the best ride - Journey to the Center of the Earth - twice. We finished out the night with an awesome choreographed light, water, and fireworks show in the bay.

  • Journey to the Center of the Earth was hyped as the best ride at Tokyo DisneySea, and it definitely lived up to the name. A great progression of pacing from a leisurely ride through the fantasy world to culminating to an adrenaline filled finale. It was good enough to warrant being the only ride we went on twice.

  • One of the themes of the park was having different flavored popcorn stands to go with the various areas of the park. We tried out milk tea, curry, caramel, salted, and soda popcorn.

  • The wait times throughout the park were super short compared to what we were expecting. Granted, it was a Tuesday, but it was also one during Japan's Golden Week Holiday.

  • Here's something you don't see very often in Tokyo - an empty train. We headed to DisneySea at around noon, much later than most recommend, but luckily were able to do and see everything that we wanted.
