Bali rightly deserves its reputation as a surfing mecca. Situated between the islands of East Java and Lombok, Bali's West and East facing stretches of coastline are perfectly shaped to pick up swells pulsing out of the Southern Indian Ocean all year long.
Situated just around the headland to the North of Dreamlands, Balangan is a beautiful bay with a consistent left hand reef break. Great fun on small days for intermediates but really only for experts when big swells come through - the paddle out can be very tricky with vast amounts of water moving across a shallow reef. Great place to relax and watch the surf from the beach side warungs in the evenings.
Situated between Impossibles and Dreamland, Bingin offers a consistent barreling left hand wave at mid-to-low tide on good swells but beware the extremely shallow reef; you can literally walk out to this wave at low tide. High tide provides a more gradually breaking left hand wave and a short right hand wave leading to a shoulder can also be ridden without fear of hitting the reef.

Keramas is located on the East Coast of Bali and situated a little North of Sanur. It has become a world renowned performance wave thanks to the consistent ramp that builds along this right hand reef break. On larger swells it will consistently barrel but beware paddling out at low to mid tide given the shallow reef which is visible from the volcanic sand beach.
Situated on the South West Coast of the Bukit Peninsula, it marks the Southernmost break of one of the most impressive line ups of surfing breaks globally. On small days this wave is good for surfers of most standards but on medium to large swells it is an experts only wave and the currents across the reef are very powerful.
