  • Blackdown, West Sussex

    Blackdown, West Sussex
Plenty of parking at the top of Tennyson Lane where this walk starts. A blustery walk where you can reach the highest point in Sussex overlooking the Sussex Weald. Breathtaking panoramic views on this walk and especially from The Temple of the Winds, which is approximately half way round this walk. In the Summer there are cattle on Blackdown but the breed is specially chosen as they are calm with horses, children and dog walkers!! This walk will take approximately 1 hour 10 minutes.

  • Cowdray Park, Midhurst, West Sussex

    Cowdray Park, Midhurst, West Sussex
A lovely walk from a carpark near The Cowdray Farm Shop in Easebourne. Walk beside the polo grounds and down to the river from where you can see Cowdray Castle ruins. A good walk to see The Causeway which still leads to Cowdray Castle and see where Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I visited. You can see the all the polo lawns (but you're not allowed to walk around them!). These Cowdray polo lawns are very famous and are known around the world as 'the heart of polo'. From behind the Red Lion pub in Fernhurst and parking in the carpark you can do a circular walk past the tennis courts and through open fields and woods, which have wonderful bluebells in the Springtime. • Iron Hill, Milland Road, Liphook, Hampshire

Iron Hill, Milland Road, Liphook, Hampshire
A dry and sandy place to walk which has wide, rough paths. There is a good carpark near the entrance and a walk around Iron Hill will take you along oaths and through wooded pine forests. This is a good walk to do on wet days, as it is all on sand and so not too much mud or too many puddles! The walk around Iron Hill will take approximately 1 hour.

This is a circular heathland walk which can be as short or as long as preferred. Combines walking on heathland and on pathways through a pine forest. Good if the weather has been wet as the Common is sandy. You need to beware of adders if walking on a warm sunny day in early Spring, as they come out to warm up in the Spring sunshine!! This walk is on sand and so a good choice if the weather has been wet. Follow the road up past Old Thorne's Golf Club and walk up to the Common. From there you can walk through a metal gate and do a walk across the Common which will bring you back to your car. This walk takes approximately 1hour 15 minutes.

  • Vann Lane, Fernhurst, West Sussex

    Vann Lane, Fernhurst, West Sussex
Drive down Vann Lane and over the bridge. As you get to the straight part of the road park on the verge on Vann Lane and opposite there is a walk into the fields of West Sussex. Walk past a cottage and through a gate into fields. Often there are sheep (and lambs in the Springtime) in the fields so it will be necessary to keep dogs on a lead. Once through these fields dogs can be off the lead. Walk across a bridge over the lake and see the remains of the iron ore works. Through a wooded area and down the side of the fields which are often planted with a crop, so keep to the sides. Often you can see buzzards flying above. Perhaps not such a good walk if it's been wet as it's on clay. This walk will take approximately 1 hour.
