Cool Places to Drink in Singapore

Cool Places to Drink in Singapore

Chill out bars, all-you-can-drink buffets, and rowdy clubs - here are some of my favorite places to grab a drink in Singapore.

    wine & beer buffet
20 Keong Saik Road, Singapore 089127
Wine Mansion has a couple of outlets but we usually head to the one at Keong Saik. The main attraction here is the wine buffet: $35++ for a 4 hour wine & beer buffet which includes red wine, white wine, prosecco, moscato, and beer. Oh, and a complimentary mini Wine Mansion platter of cold cuts as well.

I usually show up at 5pm and whack the prossecco and moscato, both of which are good quality. If you're hungry, the food here is excellent too - the pork knuckle and chocolate lava cake are fantastic. If you're craving something different to eat, Muchachos next door has good Chipotle-style mexican fast food.

Wine Buffet runs 5pm - 9pm daily (except Wed, Fri, & eve of Public Holidays)

  • Velvet Lounge / Zouk

Velvet Lounge, 17 Jiak Kim Street, Singapore 169420
Velvet and Zouk was our second home for many years after returning to Singapore - we often times clocked 5-7 nights a week there. Since the renovation to separate Velvet into Lounge and Dance, Velvet Lounge has been the best place to chill out and drink with friends in a club without having to fight for space with a mass of drunk people. The service is impeccable as well - find me another club with a staff : customer ratio anywhere close.

While not the ideal location for a crazy night out, it is always a good choice when you just want to club without the typical hassle that clubbing usually brings.

  • Quaich Whiskey Bar

390A Havelock Road, Waterfront Plaza #01-09/10, Singapore 169664
Quaich is a fantastic place to enjoy some nice whiskeys in a very chill environment with great service. It isn't a place to go crazy with loud music and huge crowds (Zouk is literally right around the corner if you get into the mood), but as a place to have actual conversations with friends while sipping from a huge selection of fine whiskeys, it is unbeatable.

The food selection and quality is also great for a whiskey bar - from Japanese beef to fries to canapes, I haven't eaten anything there that I haven't liked.

For those that are into smoking cigars - they have a nice selection to smoke in their indoor, air-conditioned cigar room.
