Took John here for his birthday this year. It's a NY-Italian restaurant in LKF Tower. Great food, amazing service. Cannot stress enough how great the service is.

    We would recommend the following:
    - spicy vodka rigatoni
    - caesar salad (Caesar a la ZZ)
    - meatballs (Mario's meatballs)

We prepare the salad and desserts in front of you. Check out the photos!

  • Vietkitchen

    41 Connaught road
This is a new Vietnamese restaurant in town. We like this place more than Chom Chom - it's opened by the same dude.

They had these cute mini pho bowls. The claypot chicken is great, too.

1st Floor, 63 Wyndham Street, Hong Kong
Come here for All-You-Can-Eat Fried Chicken Tuesdays (John's favourite, of course!)

The Hush Puppies and the Key Lime Pie are to SO WORTH IT.

We also had the All-You-Can-Eat Thanksgiving Dinner for my birthday last year. Unfortunately, I had to work late, so John had to pick up the no-longer-all-you-can-eat meal to bring home to serve up on our plates when I managed to leave the office. Tasted pretty darn amazing.

  • BÊP Vietnamese Kitchen

Lower Ground Floor, 9 Staunton Street, Central, Hong Kong
John likes coming here a lot. I do, too!

We like the Banh Mi here, and all others. We have yet to try the whole menu.

  • Dickens Bar

The Excelsior, 281 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
Definitely one of our go-to places for a somewhat comfort meal in Causeway Bay. A pretty comfortable atmosphere.

Sometimes we do Curry Mondays, or Spring Chicken Fridays.

Their chips are pretty good, too.

Come here on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings for some live music.

My favourite dish is the molten chocolate cake with vanilla/banana icecream. TO DIE FOR.

BTW, Amex discount - 15% off bill.

  • Minh & Kok

    62 Paterson Street, Hong Kong
Another go-to place in Causeway Bay for some decent Thai and Vietnamese food. Prices are reasonable.

Most things we've tried are pretty decent. The pork neck is good, and so is the spicy tom yum soup.

  • Chôm Chôm

58 Peel Street, Central, Hong Kong
Oh, we couldn't possibly forget this place! This restaurant holds a special place in our hearts - John's first chat-up line (haha) and our first date.

The food is good, a little pricey, but worth the wait (no reservations).

  • Tsui Wah

G/F, 483-499 Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay
Well, duh. John lives right above one! Some of our favourite dishes:

    - Curry Chicken
    - Toasted Egg Sandwich
    - Western Fried Rice (w/o the shrimp)
    - Spinach and Prawn Dumplings in Soup
    - Chicken and Spicy Noodle
    - Baked Tri-Color Pasta
    - Mexico Bun
    - Cocktail Bun

Oh, and get the breakfast if you can - meals A and B are our faves!

We have been so lazy, we've ordered delivery from there.

  • Eat It

9 Kingston street, causeway bay, hong kong
Kind of like Marche in Singapore or Eataly in NYC. Concept is, you go in, you're given a card each, you pick foods from the various counters, you give them your card, they take you order on your card, then you check out with the card at the end of the meal and pay all together.

The food is pretty good. Calzone is a nice one, and so is the pasta. Definitely go for the lemon meringue pie for a nice finish! It's a little pricey, but the food is of good quality.

  • Kikusan

LANDMARK MEN, B/F, LANDMARK ATRIUM, Central, Hong Kong
This place is located in The Landmark (where I work). It's a mix of Japanese and Chinese food. They serve sushi and dumplings, Japanese rice sets and Chinese noodles.

I've had lunch here - apart from the no-reso and long ass queues, it's actually pretty darn decent (quality and price wise) for a lunch in Central. Another lunch option is the take-away lunch box. You choose 2 or 3 items to go with a box of rice. It's not cheap, but it tastes pretty good and very large portions. We've also had dinner here on a weekday - very reasonably priced.

We like coming here for a reliable, comfy eat.

I would strongly recommend the following:

    - Kikusan roll
    - California roll
    - Pork cutlet rice
    - Fried Chicken rice

  • Nood Food

    Lee Theatre Plaza, Causeway Bay
We've gotta put this down as THE place for smoothies. We go to Nood (in all locations) post-workout at the Pure locations.

The smoothies are pretty darn delicious - all of them, pretty much!

    Some of our faves:

    - Maca Protein Builder (OH MY GOD SO GOOD - but if you're a little health conscious, ask for less or no sugar)
    - Berry Pump
    - Maca Pichu
    - Key West
    - Breakfast Buff

    The list goes on.
