Singapore date ideas - Keong Saik Road

The Keong Saik Road area has quickly become one of the most sophisticated outposts within touching distance of the city. Its traditional architecture coupled with the dynamic restaurant and bar scene attracts an increasingly white collar crowd to the many great venues that will keep you coming back.

  • Pre-dinner drinks - Potato Head

    36 Keong Saik Road
Operating on a walk in basis, this roof top bar is a great place to grab a drink and watch the sun go down on Singapore. It is a cosy space with limited seating so be sure to arrive in good time. There is a lounge bar on the floor below which has plenty of character should the roof top already be at capacity.

  • Dinner - Esquina

    16 Jiak Chuan Lane
Just a one minute walk around the corner from Potato Head, Esquina is a traditional Spanish tapas restaurant which oozes European style. I would recommend that you book in advance as the place is buzzing most nights of the week and the cosy layout inside does not provide for many covers. For the most authentic experience I'd recommend sitting at the communal bar and kitchen which is the centerpiece and heart beat of this venue.

  • After-dinner cocktails - The Library

    47 Keong Saik Road
A one minute walk from Esquina, the Library is concealed from passers by on the street by an unambiguous looking glass door which opens into a quaint and formal reception area. You will be asked for either the password (which can be obtained from The Study restaurant next door), alternatively you can sometimes enter on telling the receptionist a joke or singing a song of your choosing. A hidden door within the lobby leads into a completely mirrored chamber which then leads you into this speakeasy styled cocktail bar providing for a fun end to the evening.
