  • Omakase Burger

Restaurant prices in a fast food setting but personally one of the better burgers in Singapore. Fries are also a must have.

  • Omakase Burger

More than the burgers, I actually think the fries are the real star here. The truffle shoestring fries are crisp and perfectly fried to a T, dusted pretty generously with black truffle bits and full of flavor. The sweet potato fries were a winner for me too. I could easily take down a basket and a half of the fries. But wait, this is a burger review, so okay... Haha. The burger was pretty alright, not the most amazing of flavors and certainly a tad pricey when you consider the serving size.

  • De Burg

I had this for lunch one day with some colleagues and thought it was a pretty simple, fuss-free burger. Prices are a tad steep if you're talking about a lunch option in the CBD, but sometimes you just got to have your beef and eat it. I thought the patty I had was a tad dry and the fries came a bit mushy, but I guess they didn't say there was anything gourmet about it!

I had the cod burger and it was excellent. Really simple flavors that came all the way through and the mayo that was slathered on was a delicious partner to the grilled cod. I've also tried the cod on its own and it was equally yummers.

The flavors of the DB original really weren't hitting the spot and for the crazy price tag, it really did feel like they were putting in all sorts of expensive ingredients but failing to summon any harmony between them. Pretty much a let-down as my other 4 dining companions agreed (we bought into the hype so much that each of us had one!)

I had the standard No. 36 ($16) which has all the ingredients that I typically love in a burger. The medium sized patty wasn't too thick nor juicy, but it had an enjoyable chewy texture and beefy flavor. The caramelised onions and bacon went really well with the patty making for a rich and slightly salty taste. The bun texture has a nice springy feel to it. Fries are thick and a bit crispy, but I prefer shoestring. The overall size is just nice to satisfy without feeling stuffed - a great value!

  • The Chop House

I had the basic cheeseburger here a couple of weekends ago. It was tasty but I thought that the patty was slightly on the dense and dry side. From my experience at Chop House, the baby back ribs are the best thing on the menu.

  • Roadhouse

Strangely enough, the "burger" I enjoy most at Roadhouse is the fish burger which consists of a battered, fried fish fillet topped with tartar sauce in a bun. It's like fish and chips in a bun!

I loved the toasted bun which had a nice flavour on its own. The patty looked unimpressive (perhaps frozen/outsourced?) but it still had a good texture and was neither too juicy nor dry. The most enjoyable aspect was the condiments - the strong tomato relish & sauce made for a refreshingly tangy taste and coupled very well with the bacon, lettuce, and mayo for some unique flavors. The large side of shoestring fries were perfectly crispy and very good, making for a satisfying meal overall.

  • The Market Grill

I ordered the CW Bleu Cheese (150g @ $25) which was refreshingly unique in several ways. The bun was soft with embedded raisins which made for a nice taste. The medium rare patty was perfectly cooked with great texture, and while not too juicy or strong went well with the toppings. The grilled onions, crisp bacon, and (very strong tasting) bleu cheese made the burger explode with awesome flavors! At 150g, the size is just nice with the crispy fries and salad. One of my favorite burgers so far!

  • db Bistro & Oyster Bar

I had the Frenchie, and certainly enjoyed it but possibly felt they over complicated it a little. Nothing wrong but nothing memorable at 27SGD I feel there are more special burgers out there. The restaurant is nice, service good and took in to account we were in slight rush to make the show.

I'd heard good things about the burgers at DB Bistro so was excited to try it before going to a play at the MBS Theatre opposite the restaurant. The atmosphere at DB Bistro is one of fine dining and the service matches the high standards set. I went for their Frenchie Burger and thought the meat was excellent. I also really enjoyed the three accompanying sauces that came alongside the burger and crispy fries. While it was a delicious meal I was hoping for just a little more unique flavour.

I tried the Big Boss ($14) which had a juicy pork patty that wasn't too flavorful on its own but went well with the toppings. The bacon and onion rings were crispy and combined with the cheese & veggies for a nice taste, though the egg didn't really stand out in any way. The bun wasn't toasted but had a nice distinctive taste to it, while the fries were cooked perfectly crispy yet tender inside. In all, burger is quite decent - not too sinful nor big - a bit plain, though the value is good.

  • Bedrock Bar & Grill

First thoughts on the burger was that it look real good with awesome presentation! After tasting it my perception changed real quick. The beef patty tasted like the Sahara desert even though I requested a medium doneness, the only saving grace was the bottom bun which was slathered with some sweet sauce and the fried egg. Overall I give it a 3/10 after i factored in the price of the dish.

  • Bedrock Bar & Grill

I am one who is particular about the doneness in every food that I order. We ordered medium, but the patty came well done, which probably explained why the steak was not juicy enough. I couldn't taste much of the beef flavour - something that i looking forward to. The egg came as a nice add on as I loveeeee eggs! The bacon was quite thick - something different from the usual - and this gave the burger more flavour, as you would have to spend more time chewing the bacon vs the patty and the bun.

The Chopped Steak Burger ($38) has a nice and thick patty with good texture, though it got pretty dry after a few bites. The bacon was thick and a bit chewy, combining nicely with the BBQ sauce & melted cheese for a smoky taste with a hint of spice. The bun was well toasted while the egg was perfectly cooked, and the shoestring fries were decent. However, though each individual ingredient was of very high quality, the burger as a whole didn't really impress me, especially given the lofty price.

  • Fatboy’s The Burger Bar

Tried the Signature /Best seller Wimpy burger but found it rather average. It was not bad but I had higher expectations of it. Overall, the fusion of all the ingredients did not wow me or excite my taste buds. Perhaps, I'll try The Bushtucker the next time since it has better reviews.
