  • The Market Grill

I ordered the CW Bleu Cheese (150g @ $25) which was refreshingly unique in several ways. The bun was soft with embedded raisins which made for a nice taste. The medium rare patty was perfectly cooked with great texture, and while not too juicy or strong went well with the toppings. The grilled onions, crisp bacon, and (very strong tasting) bleu cheese made the burger explode with awesome flavors! At 150g, the size is just nice with the crispy fries and salad. One of my favorite burgers so far!

I had the Frenchie, and certainly enjoyed it but possibly felt they over complicated it a little. Nothing wrong but nothing memorable at 27SGD I feel there are more special burgers out there. The restaurant is nice, service good and took in to account we were in slight rush to make the show.

I'd heard good things about the burgers at DB Bistro so was excited to try it before going to a play at the MBS Theatre opposite the restaurant. The atmosphere at DB Bistro is one of fine dining and the service matches the high standards set. I went for their Frenchie Burger and thought the meat was excellent. I also really enjoyed the three accompanying sauces that came alongside the burger and crispy fries. While it was a delicious meal I was hoping for just a little more unique flavour.

I tried the Big Boss ($14) which had a juicy pork patty that wasn't too flavorful on its own but went well with the toppings. The bacon and onion rings were crispy and combined with the cheese & veggies for a nice taste, though the egg didn't really stand out in any way. The bun wasn't toasted but had a nice distinctive taste to it, while the fries were cooked perfectly crispy yet tender inside. In all, burger is quite decent - not too sinful nor big - a bit plain, though the value is good.

  • Bedrock Bar & Grill

First thoughts on the burger was that it look real good with awesome presentation! After tasting it my perception changed real quick. The beef patty tasted like the Sahara desert even though I requested a medium doneness, the only saving grace was the bottom bun which was slathered with some sweet sauce and the fried egg. Overall I give it a 3/10 after i factored in the price of the dish.

I am one who is particular about the doneness in every food that I order. We ordered medium, but the patty came well done, which probably explained why the steak was not juicy enough. I couldn't taste much of the beef flavour - something that i looking forward to. The egg came as a nice add on as I loveeeee eggs! The bacon was quite thick - something different from the usual - and this gave the burger more flavour, as you would have to spend more time chewing the bacon vs the patty and the bun.

The Chopped Steak Burger ($38) has a nice and thick patty with good texture, though it got pretty dry after a few bites. The bacon was thick and a bit chewy, combining nicely with the BBQ sauce & melted cheese for a smoky taste with a hint of spice. The bun was well toasted while the egg was perfectly cooked, and the shoestring fries were decent. However, though each individual ingredient was of very high quality, the burger as a whole didn't really impress me, especially given the lofty price.

  • Fatboy’s The Burger Bar

Tried the Signature /Best seller Wimpy burger but found it rather average. It was not bad but I had higher expectations of it. Overall, the fusion of all the ingredients did not wow me or excite my taste buds. Perhaps, I'll try The Bushtucker the next time since it has better reviews.

  • Fatboy’s The Burger Bar

The Bushtucker ($15) had a really great taste between the thin bacon, wild arugula, melted swiss cheese, and best of all the garlic aioli sauce. The beef patty was pretty good and the wholemeal bun was toasted and tasty, but it was really the toppings and their mixed flavors that I loved. The size of the meal is just nice with the fries.

  • Fatboy’s The Burger Bar

I had a Wimpy Burger ($15) and despite the name it was still quite a mouthful between the beef patty, bacon, and egg. The patty was cooked nicely (though a bit thin and not quite juicy) and went well with the slightly salty bacon. The sesame seed bun had a nice texture & flavor, however the BBQ sauce was just OK as was the egg. The hearty side of thick, slightly crispy fries was quite mediocre. Overall a good yet average burger, but I'm looking forward to trying the other, more unique options!

  • Roadhouse

I went for the Bacon Marinated Burger ($26) which had a thick, beefy patty that was pretty good but slightly on the tough side. The generous toppings, however, more than made up for it. The bacon was just a tad crispy yet quite tasty, and the best part was by far the awesome grilled onions and especially the melted gorgonzola cheese which added some great flavors to the burger. The bun was toasty yet normal and the fries (+$2 for truffle) were light on the truffle aroma but still pretty nice.

  • De Burg

I had the 200g 'Baconcheese' burger ($17.50). The patty isn't exactly thick but it is wide and nicely cooked - good texture, flavor, and while a bit chewy at times, it went well with the condiments. The fresh toppings were great: the bacon was extremely crispy and enjoyable, and the faint taste of BBQ sauce wasn't too faint nor overpowering. The bun is large and normal, as were the just slightly crispy fries. Overall it isn't super special, but it is a well executed burger that'll satisfy you.

  • Three Buns by Potato Head Folk

I went for the Baby Huey burger ($18) on a recent visit to Potato Head for lunch. Really enjoyed the fresh ingredients and mixture of flavours that this burger delivers. The spiced mayonnaise and toasted brioche bun rounded off an experience that I'd be quite happy to repeat again soon.

  • Three Buns by Potato Head Folk

The Truff Ryder ($35) initially left me unimpressed with its size and presentation, however that all changed with my first bite. The onion jam and sauces combined to make an incredible flavor unlike anything I've had before. The patty is neither thick nor 'gourmet' but had a great texture and complimented the ingredients well. While the truffle and foie gras were quite subtle they contributed to an overall fantastic taste. A bit on the small side for the price, but I'll definitely have it again.

  • Omakase Burger

One of my go-to burgers. Portion size is on the smaller side so not for big eaters. Their chicken burger is surprisingly good too.

  • The Chop House

Also had the BBQ Beef, Bacon, & Cheddar Burger ($29)
Nice American sized burger was tasty toppings. Not too dry, not too mushy. Meat was just right, and ingredient mix was quite right. Fries were also well fried.
Great, but I had better, hence the 4 starts.

  • Skyve Wine Bistro

The Skyve Beef Burger ($25) is exactly what I want in a great gourmet burger. The bun is well toasted yet fluffy making for a lovely texture, with the cheese melted into it. The patty is thick, juicy, and tender, and while not super flavorful on its own is nicely complimented by the slightly crispy and salty bacon. The generous portion of truffle fries was crispy yet soft for a fantastic texture, with a faint truffle aroma which I enjoyed. The meal’s overall serving size is perfect.

  • Two Blur Guys

Their burgers are full of flavour and certainly hit the spot. I went for their Prime Beef Burger recently and found it to be a little too juicy / greasy for my liking; had to resort to knife and fork. I really liked their truffle mayonnaise and relish which certainly enhances the taste and would bring me back again. One of the better quick-turnaround gourmet burger offerings that I've come across in Singapore and I would definitely recommend to friends looking for inspiration on that front.

  • Two Blur Guys

I had the Prime Beef w/ Streaky Bacon Burger ($17.95) and really enjoyed the meal. The patty was pretty thick and literally dripping with juice, and while it was a bit chewy the taste and texture were very enjoyable. The cheese was good and the bacon was a nice compliment as always. The truffle mayo, however, pushed the burger from good to great! The potato salad and greens were nothing special, but the burger made up for it. The overall size of the burger is good - not huge but just nice.
