  • The Market Grill

Just went back to have this again recently, still as good as I remembered! Will definitely be coming back for more

  • Suprette

I dropped back into Suprette last Friday night and really enjoyed the addition of avocado to their signature Suprette Burger. It came in a very healthy portion and added to an already excellent experience.

I haven't tried the satay burger but I go for their other grilled burgers quite regularly. It's nice and satisfying and I don't miss the meat at all!

I recommend making your burger a meal for $3.90 to add fries (or broccoli) and a drink. The fries are a bit crispy and light on the seaweed taste, but still quite enjoyable and will satisfy your hunger alongside the burger.

I also tried the Garlic & Parsley Fries ($3.80) which were very crispy with a nice flavor. I really liked that I could clearly taste the garlic and parsley on the fries, compared to ‘flavoured’ fries at other places which usually have a faint (if anything at all) taste of the featured ingredients.

  • db Bistro & Oyster Bar

Chili mustard, garlic sauce & ketchup respectively if i remembered correctly.

I also ordered caramelised onions (+$2) as an add-on which was served on the side. They were tasty and added a new depth of flavour to the burger despite being fairly dry. Worth the price if you love caramelised onions, but the burger has enough taste to it on its own to be good without any additional condiments.

  • Cafe Melba

Not recommended. I had this twice on different occasions and they were served luke warm. I sent it back the 2nd on the 2nd ocassion to get it heated up. Taste wise... it's pretty normal. You get more bang for bucks for an ieatsuperburger.

  • Three Buns by Potato Head Folk

The Naughty Fries ($10) are actually like thick potato chips, very crispy on the outside while having a soft potato-texture within. The texture is great and the flavour is unique and enjoyable - the spiced bernaise sauce, hot beef child, crisp shallots, and parmesan combine for an awesome and different taste. A very nice accompaniment to go with your burger to round out a meal.

We also had the Original db Burger. After trying a bite of the Frenchie, i expected this to be better than the former. However, I was not blown away by the taste as I was by the price tag ($42!). The beef patty encapsulated the short ribs and foie gras. The beef was cooked to medium doneness as ordered again, but could have done better with a bit more salt. The foie gras was a tad overcooked for my liking, which didn't add much to the flavour of the burger as I expected it to have sadly.

  • Prive (Chijmes)

The Chijmes outlet of Prive serves three burgers on their menu: the Bad Ass BBQ Burger ($25+), the Signature Burger ($27++), and the Cajun Chicken Burger ($21++).

I also tried the Frenchie Burger ($27) whose confit pork belly topping had a strong smokey taste and felt a bit dry in texture. The underlying beef patty was good and the ingredients were fresh, however the burger didn't feel particularly special. Though the price is very fair given the venue, I'd rather top up for the Original db Burger and get a much more unique experience.

  • db Bistro & Oyster Bar

All burgers come with a trio of individual sauces - ketchup, garlic aioli, and sweet chilli mustard - for diners to use on the burger or fries as they please.

  • Suprette

Suprette is a cosy, casual restaurant located in the lobby of Kam Leng Hotel. There are slightly different offerings and prices between the lunch and dinner menus - at night you'll pay $4-5 more for the addition of a side salad and to make your fries free flow. Ken's Heart Attack Burger is also exclusive to the dinner crowd.

  • db Bistro & Oyster Bar

The flavors of the DB original really weren't hitting the spot and for the crazy price tag, it really did feel like they were putting in all sorts of expensive ingredients but failing to summon any harmony between them. Pretty much a let-down as my other 4 dining companions agreed (we bought into the hype so much that each of us had one!)
