  • Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters

I really liked the modern and bright feel to Pacamara alongside the dedication you sense to their craft. Their Truffle Benedict was beautifully presented with two well poached eggs of good quality. I really enjoyed the spinach which was layered between the brioche base and honey baked ham. Their signature truffle hollandaise sauce blended well with all the other flavours and certainly made for a unique and rich tasting variation on this traditional dish.

  • Choupinette

I like the unpretentious look and feel of this cafe and bakery. Opting for the Eggs Benedict set brunch menu, I was immediately excited by their generous serving of creamy hollandaise sauce which was delicious. The toasted bread base was really fresh and light and the thinly sliced ham on top was of good quality. The eggs were very well poached but lacked the truly golden yoke that I associate with high quality eggs. A very enjoyable dish and one of the best hollandaise sauces yet.

  • Open Door Policy

Pottered over to Open Door Policy after a rather heavy night and had the Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg Sandwich. Comes on a brioche roll and the eggs are cooked well, ideal food for a hangover although could do with a little more seasoning. Went down a treat particularly when accompanied by a cold Japanese Lager

  • Kith Cafe (Sentosa Cove)

Great venue which has a real holiday feel about it on a sunny morning and overlooks the Marina at Sentosa Cove. Their Blackstone Eggs Benedict had been recommended to me by a friend and it didn't disappoint. The eggs were well poached and of good quality with a runny orange yoke. I really enjoyed the novelty of placing both eggs on a roasted tomato. The crispy bacon was a fine addition along with the grilled asparagus on the side. Their hollandaise sauce rounded off an excellent breakfast.

  • The Missing Pan

I was torn between the two fantastic looking eggs benedict options on their menu and ended up going for their Salmon Gravlax Eggs Benedict. It was beautifully presented and made for a rich combination of flavours. The smoked salmon was really fresh and combined well with their home baked brioche and creamy hollandaise sauce. The eggs were of good quality and well poached with a runny yoke. I very much enjoyed the accompanying mixed salad that enhanced what was a very enjoyable experience.

  • Forty Hands

40 hands has great atmostphere and decor, its a cool little cafe tucked away along upcoming yong siak street - there's a fab book shop opposite if you have time to kill. They do a classic eggs benedict - eggs can sometimes be a little underdone, apart from that this is a great option - and perfect for sorting out a sunday morning hangover!!

  • Forty Hands

I'm a big fan of Tiong Bahru and I'd been recommended Forty Hands by a brunch loving friend. I went for their Eggs Benedict with organic bacon and really enjoyed the addition of baby spinach leaves on their thin toasted muffin base. The eggs were of good quality but perhaps slightly under poached and a little too runny for my liking. I really liked the addition of diced roasted potatoes to mop up the egg yoke and hollandaise sauce but would have preferred them not to be as spicy.

  • Common Man Coffee Roasters

Big fan of Common man - their eggs benedict is pretty good but the Veggie Wonderland breakfast is also excellent too - eggs, avocado, spinach, grilled tomatoes, pepita toast & grilled halloumi cheese - a healthy and hearty breakfast option!

  • Common Man Coffee Roasters

I'd been meaning to drop by Common Man Coffee Roasters for a while and was told to arrive in good time on Saturday morning to avoid a queue. Their Organic Eggs Benedict was beautifully presented. I really enjoyed the well poached organic eggs on the sourdough base. The addition of ox cheek is to be applauded for its originality but was a little too rich in taste for my liking at that time of the morning. The chive hollandaise sauce was good and I enjoyed the accompanying arugula salad.

  • Maison Ikkoku

I'd visited previously for their coffee and had recently been persuaded by a friend to try their eggs benedict. I went for their Signature Eggs Benedict and they had a special promotion on so my accompanying coffee was free. I enjoyed the presentation of the dish and the combination of flavours and ingredients certainly didn't let it down. The slightly glazed hollandaise sauce had a little spice to it which blended well with the toasted brioche, prosciutto ham, and beautifully poached eggs.

  • PS. Cafe

I really enjoyed the citrus hint to the hollandaise sauce. Both eggs were poached to the point where they just maintained the runnyness of their lovely golden orange yoke. The toasted english muffin base was well complimented by the crispy bacon rashers. A healthy fresh salad accompanied by cherry tomatoes and a balsamic dressing rounded off a very enjoyable experience.

  • Nassim Hill Bakery

This venue provides a large open seating area with a well worn and French inspired interior that harks back to the 90s. I went for their Spicy Huevos Benedict ($20) which was well presented on a french bread rather the ciabatta advertised. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and distinct in flavour. I really enjoyed the combination of high quality chorizo and guacamole mixed in with the other flavours. Unfortunately, the eggs were of poor quality and under poached which detracted from the dish.

  • Royz et Vous Specialty Coffee

Always keen to find good brunch options in the CBD, I was excited to stumble upon this cafe which has recently relocated from the Kampong Glam area. I went for their Eggs Royale and found the presentation of the dish very easy on the eye. I enjoyed the fresh brioche base and well poached eggs of good quality. There was a hearty serving of smoked salmon but unfortunately the hollandaise sauce was a little lacking in distinctive flavour. I really enjoyed their potato salad on the side.

  • Jewel Cafe and Bar

I'd been meaning to drop by this cafe for a little while since it is located not too far from where I live. I went for their Eggs Benedict ($15) which certainly made for a hearty brunch. The eggs were of good quality and were well poached. I felt the addition of back bacon alongside the more traditional ham was perhaps just a little too much meat for a dish of this nature. The hollandaise sauce was plentiful in portion but lacked distinctive flavour.

  • Jones the Grocer (Mandarin Gallery)

I chose the Benedict Breakfast ($22) and enjoyed its presentation. The english muffin was thin and well toasted. The eggs were well poached and of good quality. I thought the ham was delicious and I enjoyed its combination with the serving of spinach. Unfortunately, I found the hollandaise sauce to be a little buttery and lacking any distinctive flavour which was a real shame. The side salad was fresh but could have done with some dressing.

  • The Clueless Goat

I really enjoyed the handmade feel to this cafe which was exemplified when the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon arrived on their own homemade ceramic plate. The eggs were of average quality but were well poached. The multi-grain toast made for a refreshing change from a more traditional english muffin or brioche base. The smoked salmon came as a healthy serving and was of good quality. The hollandaise sauce had a good consistency and rich flavour. I also enjoyed the additional side salad.

  • Arteastiq Tea House

In keeping with the opulent style of this venue, their Aphrodite Crabcake Benedict was well presented. I wasn't sure what to make of the crabcake addition to this traditional dish but ended up enjoying the richness of flavour. The eggs were slightly under poached for my liking but of good quality. Their hollandaise sauce blended well with the overall flavours and I enjoyed the addition of asparagus.

  • Boufe Boutique Cafe

I went for the Eggs Benedict ($16) and really enjoyed their deliciously fresh brioche base. The eggs were well poached and of good quality. I enjoyed their creamy hollandaise sauce and the side salad with balsamic dressing. Being a little bit of a ham snob, I didn't think it matched the otherwise high quality of the dish but I very much enjoyed the overall experience.

  • Symmetry Cafe

I really like the atmosphere and setting of this cafe. I went for the Symmetry Eggs Benedict ($22) and really enjoyed the presentation of the dish on their signature granite themed plates. The eggs were of good quality but a little under poached for my liking. I enjoyed the bacon and sauteed mushrooms alongside the toasted english muffins. The hash brown on the side didn't do very much for me although I enjoyed the side salad. Their glazed hollandaise sauce was not deep enough in flavour.

  • Canopy Garden Dining

I'd not previously been to Bishan Park and really enjoyed the setting and style of this cafe. I went for their Eggs Benedict Grande ($19) and really enjoyed the serrano ham, fried mushrooms and side salad that came with a pesto dressing. The eggs were well poached but of average quality, and the hollandaise sauce looked great but was a little lacking in a distinct flavour.
