I really liked the laid back nature of this coffee shop with its rustic feeling wooden interior. Interested in trying the closest option on the menu to Eggs Royale I went for the subject dish. I really enjoyed the good quality smoked salmon and generous layer of guacamole. The eggs were a little under poached for my liking and of average quality. I enjoyed the chipotle mayonnaise and the depth it gave when mixed in with all the other flavours.

I really like the converted industrial feel and open seating nature of this place. Having bumped into a friend outside I was keen to try their Brooklyn Style Eggs Benedict ($19). The eggs were well poached and of good quality, combining really well with the delicious stewed beef and toasted brioche. Their in-house eggs benny sauce was a little too closely related to mayonnaise for me to truly enjoy its addition as much as I would have enjoyed a more traditional hollandaise sauce.

  • Rabbit Carrot Gun

This place certainly took me back in time a little to the gastro-pubs of London when I first entered. I went for their Eggs Benedict ($15) and really enjoyed their bacon on the toasted English muffins. The eggs were well poached but of medium quality and their hollandaise sauce looked great but was unfortunately a little flavourless in taste. A fresh side salad accompanied the dish but there was no dressing served on it which was a shame.

I really likes the laid back theme of this place and was eager to try their Eggs Benedict. I opted for the salmon version as I'm not a big fan of turkey ham. I really enjoyed the toasted brioche base alongside their homemade hollandaise sauce which was delicious and came with a hint of citrus and mustard. The eggs were well poached but of medium quality and the smoked salmon wasn't full of flavour.

I went for their traditional Eggs Benedict and enjoyed the overall presentation of the dish. The eggs were slightly under-poached and of medium quality but the hollandaise sauce was good with a hint of citrus and spice to it. The ham was of decent quality and the English muffin base was fresh but I'd have preferred for it to have been toasted. Certainly one of the best value Eggs Benedict I've had in Singapore to date.

  • Brunches Cafe

I was recommended this place by a friend who lives in the area. Really welcomed by their quirky vintage decorations inside and friendly staff, I went for their Eggs Benedict ($15). The eggs were well poached on a toasted english muffin and I quickly noticed the fried mushrooms that weren't on the menu but came as a welcome surprise. Sadly for me, their streaky bacon wasn't of great quality and their homemade hollandaise sauce had little flavour and was not very liberally applied.

I went for the Salmon Polenta Eggs Benedict as I was intrigued to see how well the polenta base supported this traditional dish. Unfortunately I found the polenta a little lacking in flavour, too crumbly and extremely filling when served up with two thick pieces. I enjoyed the smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce but felt the eggs were a little under poached and not of great quality. Think I'd go for their other Eggs Benedict option next time.

  • Privé (Chijmes)

A couple of friends had recommended the Privé Eggs Benedict and so I was keen to see how it rated. The ham and streaky bacon on top of the toasted English muffin base were delicious. Both eggs were well poached to the point where the yoke remained a little runny and the flavours combined well with the rocket salad. The glazed hollandaise sauce was lacking a little in flavour which was really the only downside to what was otherwise very good dish.

  • Wild Honey

The Spanish Hash ($24) at Wild Honey is very photogenic with its unique presentation as well as ingredients. The egg was cooked well with a runny yolk, while the bread was just slightly crispy while remaining quite soft overall. The potatoes and sausage didn't have a very distinctive taste, though I was able to improve the flavor by adding a bit of sea salt. Despite its visual appeal, this dish was exactly as expected - nothing too bold or surprising taste-wise, just a solid eggs benedict.

  • Group Therapy Coffee

I'm a big fan of converted shop houses and had been looking forward to visiting this venue. I ordered the Poached Eggs (Eggs Royale) and was not particularly impressed with its rather sloppy presentation on arrival. The smoked salmon was of average quality while the eggs were a little under poached for my liking and of poor quality. I enjoyed their hollandaise sauce which was liberally served but was left a little disappointed overall.

  • Dimbulah (Chijmes)

I enjoyed the thinly toasted ciabatta base and the generous serving of delicious ham. Unfortunately both eggs were over poached to the point where the yoke was hard boiled. The hollandaise sauce had good consistency but not as full in flavour as I'd hoped. I enjoyed the side salad and the diced roasted potatoes but sadly that was not enough to make up for the disappointing lack of a runny yoke from the poached eggs.

  • Suprette

Not one of the best laid out Eggs Florentine I've been presented. I didn't enjoy the sachet of butter being thrown in with the dish. That aside, the potato and spinach base hidden beneath the poached eggs aided the overall flavours and I enjoyed the creamy hollandaise sauce. The generous serving of smoked salmon drizzled in lemon juice proved a tasty addition and the eggs were runny but of relatively low quality.

  • Working Title

I like the indie/hippy vibe of this cafe and the eclectic mix of food and drinks on offer. I was keen to try their Eggs Benedict but decided on their Eggs Royale in the end as I'm not a big fan of turkey ham. I enjoyed the toasted focaccia base alongside the smoked salmon which was of decent quality. Unfortunately the poached eggs were of low quality and the hollandaise sauce was a little bland and frugally applied. I enjoyed the green salad but will not be rushing back for this particular dish.

  • Lola's Cafe

I really like this cafe but was disappointed with their Avocado Eggs Benedict. Their hollandaise sauce was thick but had very little flavour. The eggs were runny but the yolk was a relatively pale yellow indicating poor quality in my eyes. The avocado was puréed and very thinly spread on the pork ham which was of low quality. The highlight of this dish was the fresh lettuce, cherry tomato and delicious balsamic dressing but that sadly wasn't the reason I'd visited.

    @Stoopy hi Stoopy,
    loving the Eggs benedict dedication!
A mega fan of this one. the sauteed mushroom (almost paste) was a great addition. Disagree about the hash brown - an amazing unexpected bonus - big thumbs up!
