  • Veganburg in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I had the Char-Grilled Satay Burger ($6.90) which certainly lived up to its name. The soy patty was thin with a nice texture which felt a lot like meat. There was good flavor from the nutty satay sauce which gave a kick of spice alongside the onions. The veggies and cucumber rounded out the taste while the bun was quite dense, creating a nice balance.

I'm a hardcore meat lover but I'll admit I definitely enjoyed this a lot more than expected. A refreshing change, especially if you like satay!

  • Little Diner in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I went for the Midtown Burger ($19.50) which had one of the thickest patties I've ever seen. The texture was quite delicate, falling apart in your mouth, and had more of a watery moistness than juiciness. There was a slight charcoal grill aftertaste which went well with the subtle flavors of the cheese, caramelized onions, and veggies. The bun was quite normal while the fries were unique - half soft, half crispy, and super tasty! A good burger & meal, but adding bacon would make it much better.

  • BWB (Burger vs Wings + Bar) in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I went for the Tyson Peanut Butter Burger ($21.90) as that was their signature dish. The patty was thick with a nice texture and a strong charred taste. However, the flavor definitely deferred to the peanut butter (I guess this is the point). The veggies & egg added a different dimension of taste but didn't really compliment the peanut butter, though the bacon added a touch of welcome saltiness. I enjoyed the burger though the peanut butter was a bit much; I'd like to try the others next time.

  • Spruce in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

The Spruce Burger ($18) has a great, thick, grass-fed patty with perfect texture and a fresh yet subtle taste. It relies on tomatoes, onions, mustard, and greens for flavor - a healthy/minimalist palette may appreciate this, though to me it was a bit lacking (adding bacon may help). The bun texture is quite dense when eaten, leading to the bread taste being borderline overpowering. The seasoned fries are ok, but thicker than I prefer. A good, healthy-tasting burger, but a bit on the plain side.

The quality isn't fantastic, but it is a decent option to get Mexican fast food if you're around the Hillview area.

  • Relish by Wild Rocket in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I had the Bacon & Cheese Beef Burger (19.90) which had a medium rare patty with a strong beef flavor. While it wasn't too juicy, the taste and texture was quite enjoyable (though a bit starchy at times, alongside the normal bun). The crispy bacon added a touch of flavor alongside the tangy tomato relish, though the overall taste was pretty faint (ketchup helped a bit). The fries are a bit thick, solid yet soft at the same time for a decent texture. Overall the taste & size is pretty average.

  • Cafe Melba in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I loved the toasted bun which had a nice flavour on its own. The patty looked unimpressive (perhaps frozen/outsourced?) but it still had a good texture and was neither too juicy nor dry. The most enjoyable aspect was the condiments - the strong tomato relish & sauce made for a refreshingly tangy taste and coupled very well with the bacon, lettuce, and mayo for some unique flavors. The large side of shoestring fries were perfectly crispy and very good, making for a satisfying meal overall.

  • Dojo in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I tried the Big Boss ($14) which had a juicy pork patty that wasn't too flavorful on its own but went well with the toppings. The bacon and onion rings were crispy and combined with the cheese & veggies for a nice taste, though the egg didn't really stand out in any way. The bun wasn't toasted but had a nice distinctive taste to it, while the fries were cooked perfectly crispy yet tender inside. In all, burger is quite decent - not too sinful nor big - a bit plain, though the value is good.

  • Bedrock Bar & Grill in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

The Chopped Steak Burger ($38) has a nice and thick patty with good texture, though it got pretty dry after a few bites. The bacon was thick and a bit chewy, combining nicely with the BBQ sauce & melted cheese for a smoky taste with a hint of spice. The bun was well toasted while the egg was perfectly cooked, and the shoestring fries were decent. However, though each individual ingredient was of very high quality, the burger as a whole didn't really impress me, especially given the lofty price.

  • Fatboy’s The Burger Bar in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I had a Wimpy Burger ($15) and despite the name it was still quite a mouthful between the beef patty, bacon, and egg. The patty was cooked nicely (though a bit thin and not quite juicy) and went well with the slightly salty bacon. The sesame seed bun had a nice texture & flavor, however the BBQ sauce was just OK as was the egg. The hearty side of thick, slightly crispy fries was quite mediocre. Overall a good yet average burger, but I'm looking forward to trying the other, more unique options!

  • De Burg in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I had the 200g 'Baconcheese' burger ($17.50). The patty isn't exactly thick but it is wide and nicely cooked - good texture, flavor, and while a bit chewy at times, it went well with the condiments. The fresh toppings were great: the bacon was extremely crispy and enjoyable, and the faint taste of BBQ sauce wasn't too faint nor overpowering. The bun is large and normal, as were the just slightly crispy fries. Overall it isn't super special, but it is a well executed burger that'll satisfy you.

  • Wild Honey in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

The Spanish Hash ($24) at Wild Honey is very photogenic with its unique presentation as well as ingredients. The egg was cooked well with a runny yolk, while the bread was just slightly crispy while remaining quite soft overall. The potatoes and sausage didn't have a very distinctive taste, though I was able to improve the flavor by adding a bit of sea salt. Despite its visual appeal, this dish was exactly as expected - nothing too bold or surprising taste-wise, just a solid eggs benedict.

  • OverEasy in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

Being a huge truffle fan, I tried out the Truffle Burger ($28) and of course upgraded to truffle fries ($2). The bun was just ok, being soft and non-toasted. The sauteed onions complimented the juicy and nicely cooked patty - which had good texture and flavor - making the burger messy yet fun to eat. The burger is medium-sized, its not food coma-inducing but gets you full enough alongside the fries. Overall a good meal, but wish the burger & fries were more truffle-ly to live up to the name.

  • Berg's Burger in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

Berg's Burger has a lot of interesting options for burger fanatics, though I typically stick with the Miss Piggy (bacon cheeseburger) with fries and a lemonade ($20 NETT). The burgers are large and will fill you up, though as you can see the patties aren't necessarily thick nor juicy. Maybe its just me but something about the meat texture makes it feel a bit rubbery/stringy, but thankfully its not dry nor tough either. Nevertheless, Berg's is a decent choice to satisfy your burger craving.

  • Omakase Burger in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

Omakase Burger is undoubtedly good for a fast-food style outlet - the fresh meat, cheese, lettuce, and bacon work well together to make a distinctive and enjoyable taste, though the burger itself is definitely on the small side. However, add on the cost of fries and a drink to the base $15-20 for the burger you quickly get into gourmet burger territory at $25+ per pax. At that price point, you can get much bigger, juicier, and higher quality burgers from the likes of Suprette or Black Swan.

  • PS. Cafe in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

The PS Crispy Onion Burger isn't cheap at $29++. To make up for this, the burger is generously sized and comes with a HUGE portion of shoestring fries on the side (sadly, they aren't truffle fries). The meat is high quality and juicy, but I didn't get any unique taste or awesome flavors from it; the deep fried onion toppings didn't stand out either.

Overall, this is a solid burger that will definitely satisfy your cravings but isn't quite special enough to make it into your food fantasies.

  • UOB PRVI Miles MasterCard / AMEX in Best Credit Cards for Airline Miles in Singapore

These are decent cards but not nearly as attractive nowadays with the plethora of 4 mile / S$ options on the market. The UOB PRVI Miles cards offer you simplicity in being general use cards that require little thinking, but you pay a hefty price of losing out on almost 3x the miles by not using the best cards for each type of spending. That said, they do have some utility in filling in certain gaps that other cards can't earn 4 miles / S$, such as very very large overseas purchases (non-dining).

This was once a much better card but has since been riddled with all sorts of exclusions and restrictions on its ability to earn 4 miles / S$. If you online shop regularly then this card can still be useful, but be prepared to invest time learning the T&Cs and keeping track of spending to stay under $12k SGD per calendar year.

  • Boston Lobster Thermidor in Singapore Airlines - Best Book the Cook Meals

Lobster Thermidor is usually one of the first choices when flying premium cabins for the first few times, given how luxurious it sounds to be having lobster at 30,000 feet over the sea. I had put it off for a while, but my virgin-lobster in-flight experience was not great. On-board, the meat gets a little dry and tough, and much less tasty than on the ground. Other frequent flyers agree, don't go for lobster other than the novelty of it.

  • Seared Lamb Chop/Loin in Singapore Airlines - Best Book the Cook Meals

This dish was ordered off the menu, however this time it was in First Class. Despite the hype, I was quite disappointed at the texture and done-ness of it; it wasn't nearly as tender as the ones I've had in the past, and I can't recommend anyone flying out of India to go for meat dishes.
