I used StartUpJobs and it is just like any other job portal but specific for startups. They have a dedicated Internship tab which we could list on. We got a few internship applications through them and ended up getting 2 pretty good interns. Definitely a cool platform, but at the end of the day make sure you do your part in interviewing them and setting their expectations properly!

I went to a few events which were really cool and met a lot of awesome people. However most of them had specific themes or purposes and I didn't find many programmers that were looking for jobs. Nevertheless, it was great for networking and getting to know the various industries better!

Lots of great ideas and conversations around an endless amount of high level as well as very specific topics relevant to the startup scene.

This is a great tool for people to create mock-ups really quickly and easily using a simple drag-n-drop UI and common website/app elements to choose from. It is quite versatile and powerful - much better and faster than mocking up in PowerPoint or diving straight into code.
I think Balsamiq is particularly powerful for non-coders to translate their ideas into a tangible wireframe and concept.

I haven't read the book but I watched the YouTube interview with London Real and found it to be very useful. I especially love the parts about the 'crocodile brain' and how to structure information to be interesting, as well as the advice to start with a narrative around the proposition before continuing on to the problem and then solution.
Highly recommended for anyone that may need to pitch/sell or even explain anything.

I really enjoy listening to these hour-long lectures by experienced entrepreneurs and investors and the lessons they have learnt; they're perfect for my daily commute to work! Lots of unique stories and perspectives to glean from.
Of course, some speakers are more relevant to you than others, so just pick and choose based on the name, title, and/or company if you don't want to listen to them all.

The Hamburger ($13) may not be 'gourmet' but is definitely delicious! The patty is large with good texture, not really tender nor juicy (a bit charred / dry at the edges) but still very good. The caramelized onions alongside the bacon & BBQ sauce made for a fantastic savoury taste, while the greens & mayo added a lighter flavor. The bun is a tad dense but went well with the other strong tastes, and they were VERY generous with the sides. A very solid burger and likely the best value I've seen.

I had Luke's Blue Label Burger ($32) whose bun was toasted well and very tasty, while the thick beef patty was one of the best I've had - excellent texture with fantastic seasoning and flavors (especially the slightly salty crust); it felt like a good steak. The toppings were fresh though the onion was a bit strong, and the tangy mustard sauce on the side added a nice optional twist. Would have loved to have fries included to round out the meal, but still a great albeit pricey burger on its own.

The iEat Super Burger ($14.90) is HUGE! The beef patty was thick, cooked well, and fairly juicy; not amazing on its own but went very well with all the toppings. I loved the towering stack of fried onions which added a nice flavor and crispiness. The lettuce, tomato, and mayo offered a touch of different tastes but was mostly overpowered by the bacon, onion, and BBQ sauce. If you like those flavors then this is a great bang-for-your-buck, no frills burger that'll cure any hunger you may have.

I had the Riders Burger ($18) whose patty was thick, juicy, and cooked to a perfect medium; the texture was great though the flavor didn't stand out in any way. The grilled onions were very tasty while the lettuce, tomato, and house sauce (tasted like thousand island dressing) added a refreshing touch. The bun and cheese were good but nothing too special. The fries were nice, fairly crispy, but more on the average side. Overall quite a good burger if you're around the area.

I had the Double Cheeseburger ($18++) whose double stacked patties were good: not the juiciest nor most flavorful, but quite enjoyable especially alongside the toppings. The generous serving of melted cheese and bacon was quite tasty though a touch on the salty side. The lettuce and sauce (thousand island?) was tasty, refreshing, and flavorful. The bun was small and good but nothing special, while the crispy fries were great - fried well yet still fluffy inside. A very good burger on the whole.

I went for the French Onion Burger ($18) which had a VERY delicious toasted and buttery bun. The patty decently juicy and thick, though not really large in diameter. The meat was good, not very flavorful on its own but went well with the grilled onions, lettuce, and mayo. The grilled Gruyere cheese was excellent in taste though the onion ring didn't do much. I also really enjoyed the crispy seasoned fries. Overall, the size is medium-small but the combination of flavors and textures was great.

I had the standard No. 36 ($16) which has all the ingredients that I typically love in a burger. The medium sized patty wasn't too thick nor juicy, but it had an enjoyable chewy texture and beefy flavor. The caramelised onions and bacon went really well with the patty making for a rich and slightly salty taste. The bun texture has a nice springy feel to it. Fries are thick and a bit crispy, but I prefer shoestring. The overall size is just nice to satisfy without feeling stuffed - a great value!

I ordered the CW Bleu Cheese (150g @ $25) which was refreshingly unique in several ways. The bun was soft with embedded raisins which made for a nice taste. The medium rare patty was perfectly cooked with great texture, and while not too juicy or strong went well with the toppings. The grilled onions, crisp bacon, and (very strong tasting) bleu cheese made the burger explode with awesome flavors! At 150g, the size is just nice with the crispy fries and salad. One of my favorite burgers so far!

I went for the Bacon Marinated Burger ($26) which had a thick, beefy patty that was pretty good but slightly on the tough side. The generous toppings, however, more than made up for it. The bacon was just a tad crispy yet quite tasty, and the best part was by far the awesome grilled onions and especially the melted gorgonzola cheese which added some great flavors to the burger. The bun was toasty yet normal and the fries (+$2 for truffle) were light on the truffle aroma but still pretty nice.

The Truff Ryder ($35) initially left me unimpressed with its size and presentation, however that all changed with my first bite. The onion jam and sauces combined to make an incredible flavor unlike anything I've had before. The patty is neither thick nor 'gourmet' but had a great texture and complimented the ingredients well. While the truffle and foie gras were quite subtle they contributed to an overall fantastic taste. A bit on the small side for the price, but I'll definitely have it again.

The Skyve Beef Burger ($25) is exactly what I want in a great gourmet burger. The bun is well toasted yet fluffy making for a lovely texture, with the cheese melted into it. The patty is thick, juicy, and tender, and while not super flavorful on its own is nicely complimented by the slightly crispy and salty bacon. The generous portion of truffle fries was crispy yet soft for a fantastic texture, with a faint truffle aroma which I enjoyed. The meal’s overall serving size is perfect.

I had the Prime Beef w/ Streaky Bacon Burger ($17.95) and really enjoyed the meal. The patty was pretty thick and literally dripping with juice, and while it was a bit chewy the taste and texture were very enjoyable. The cheese was good and the bacon was a nice compliment as always. The truffle mayo, however, pushed the burger from good to great! The potato salad and greens were nothing special, but the burger made up for it. The overall size of the burger is good - not huge but just nice.

A friend and I ordered the BBQ Beef, Bacon, & Cheddar Burger ($29) and were pleasantly surprised when it came - it is a BIG burger. The toppings were very generous and enjoyable with tasty bacon and a ton of melted cheese. The patty was very thick and pretty juicy, and while the meat itself wasn't overly flavorful nor tender (cooked medium), the combination of size, ingredients, and BBQ sauce made for a very satisfying meal. The tater tots were served perfectly and made for a great side dish.

On my first bite into The Original db Burger ($42) the braised beef stuffing amazed me with its fantastic flavor and texture, complimenting the huge, juicy sirloin patty very well. However, while the foie gras filling contributed a lot to the cost, it's subtlety didn't add much to the taste. The burger is perfectly sized alongside a generous serving of crispy fries, which is appreciated in an upscale joint like this. All in, I think the burger is worth the premium and I'd gladly have it again.
