On my first bite into The Original db Burger ($42) the braised beef stuffing amazed me with its fantastic flavor and texture, complimenting the huge, juicy sirloin patty very well. However, while the foie gras filling contributed a lot to the cost, it's subtlety didn't add much to the taste. The burger is perfectly sized alongside a generous serving of crispy fries, which is appreciated in an upscale joint like this. All in, I think the burger is worth the premium and I'd gladly have it again.

The mood and setting in The Black Swan is very Great Gatsby-esque (aka awesome) which makes for an ironic yet befitting home for a fantastic gourmet burger. The bun and ingredients are fresh and of high quality while the meat itself is very flavorful and juicy - sink your teeth into it and you'll see why the $30++ price point is justified. The burger as a whole was greatly satisfying, though unfortunately the fries weren't anything special.

Tried the Tom Yum Talay in red soup the other day and everyone in the group liked it. The soup isn't as spicy or sharp as some of the more hardcore options in places like the Golden Mile, which is a good thing for most people as many aren't able to fully finish or enjoy that level of spice. Can't comment on the seafood as I don't like prawns, squid, or mussels - my fault for ordering I know, but really wanted to try the red soup. Overall a good choice to start off your meal.

The Lemongrass Steak sandwich ($12, or upsize to $16 as in the photo) was much better than I expected. This is some real quality beef with seriously awesome texture, not the sliced ham or roast beef crap you get from the likes of Subway. The bread was nice and crispy too.
The food, drinks, and especially staff at The Hangar are great. Would definitely give it 5 stars if not for the price, which seems to be a touch on the higher side (though to be fair, you're paying for quality).

I've been looking for a good Indian option in the area for about 6 months, so it was very exciting to hear about Yummy Punjaby just a few minutes away. The setting is very unassuming and casual, with no air conditioning though the open concept keeps it from feeling stuffy. The food is definitely good and value for money, with the Thursday butter chicken meal being a clear winner to me. They were also generous with the naan and rice. Will need to come back and try the other choices.

I know Aston's isn't anything new or special, but sometimes you have a craving for a decent steak that is somewhere between a hawker centre and a fine dining establishment, and Aston's scratches that itch very well. The Prime Ribeye meal ($17.90 w/ 2 sides) was obviously not as great as higher end establishments, but for the price was quite satisfying and noticeably better than hawker fare. Cheaper meals options (e.g. fish or chicken) are also available in the $10 range.

The western food stall in the middle of the 2nd floor is quite good (the one closer to the CBD, as there are 2 right across from each other). Roughly $6-8 depending on what you order, the lamb and chicken are both good.

I eat here probably once every 2 weeks or so. The burgers here are big, fresh, and satisfying, but something about the meat texture feels a bit more rubbery than it does juicy. Nevertheless, these are one of the better gourmet burgers in Singapore and I always enjoy having a meal here.

Went for after-work drinks tonight and found it to be quite a cool place. Very casual setting with friendly staff. We had a few rounds of London Pride beer ($13 per pint) and a cold cuts & cheese platter ($36) which were both very satisfying. Definitely a nice place to just chill out and have a good conversation with some friends.

Had MexOut for lunch at the suggestion of the wonderful Lucy Miles and was very happy with the choice of venue. The variety of food and ingredients was excellent and everything looked fresh and clean. I got a rice bowl meal with a few add ons which quickly put me past the $20 mark, though in return I got a TON of food and was super stuffed afterwards. The carne asada is in strips of beef whereas I prefer the steak-cube style, but overall was a very good meal!

I've been here once before and loved the vibe, atmosphere, and especially the food. Highly recommend the burratina cheese ball ($18) as well as the Secreto Iberico pork ($28), whereas the lamb rack ($36) was also good but didn't quite justify the price. Prices are on the high end relative to the serving size, but for an occasional treat I'd say definitely give Moosehead a try.

A lot of people didn't think this movie was great but I think that is due to how much hype it had. I really loved the first Avengers movie and thought this one was still very good, though perhaps the first was still better - the bar was set pretty high. Tons and tons of action and some funny scenes. Felt they could have done a bit more with Jarvis 2.0 after building it up so much. Overall still a great movie IMHO!

Almost everyone who has been to Bali knows and likes Potato Head, so there was a ton of buzz when they opened up a branch in Singapore. The atmosphere is definitely unique and the staff are great, though it gets very crowded after 6 to 7 pm - mostly with tourists and expats it seems. Prices are on the higher end as well, which is in line with their customer base. Overall a cool place to bring overseas visitors or to have an occasional drink.

A very nice and convenient way to get your burrito fix in the CBD, especially if you're already in the area. The cost is about $10-15 depending on what you get and what size, and the taste is quite good (though not the best I've had in Singapore). Overall I'd definitely recommend this if you're nearby and are craving a burrito - you won't be disappointed.

The overall taste and texture is very similar to that of Fat Bird's laziji down the street, but it comes at a slightly higher price point ($14 vs. $12). I'm not sure if it was just the dish or the overall meal, but I seem to prefer the version at Fat Bird better.

A fine whiskey to slowly sip and have a good conversation over. Tastes great and is best appreciated neat or on the rocks - don't add any of your mixer nonsense to a whiskey like this. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for!

Ordered this on my first visit to Club Meatballs and felt that it was good but not necessarily amazing. The $14 price point for 4 meatballs, pasta, and some condiments is to be expected for this type of place in the CBD, and you won't get very full after a meal like this - which I guess is the whole point. In hindsight, salad would have definitely complimented the dish much better than pasta.

Tried Club Meatballs the other day and loved the concept. Simple menu, good food, and really cool ambience. The semi-private room in the back is excellent to have a good conversation over lunch in a casual living-room type setting. My meal came out to $14 with 4 meatballs and pasta with various other toppings, but will definitely go with salad instead of pasta next time. A bit pricey and won't really fill you up, but thats to be expected for this type of food around the CBD.

When I was younger I loved Krispy Kreme in the 'states, perhaps due to the standalone shops with the conveyer belt which you could track your donut being made from a ball of dough to getting glazed and then eating that exact one hot off the press. Now that it is available in Singapore, it is still good but isn't the dream dessert it once was. I'll still have a couple donuts without hesitation, but probably won't have 6 at a time anymore :)

Funny movie! Love the good ole American humor. I definitely laughed pretty hard at some scenes, though it is super odd to see Will Ferrell play the role of an intelligent person. Watch out for the penis!!
