  • Strangers' Reunion in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

One of my favourite cafes in Singapore. I love their Smoked Salmon Benedict. Really original combination of ingredients which is beautifully presented and tastes delicious. Traditionalists might frown at the replacement of hollandaise with their hazelnut bernaise but I'm all for creativity around a traditional theme particularly when it tastes this good. The fresh smoked salmon, lightly toasted sultana bread, walnut and feta crumble provide a fantastic compliment to the poached eggs.

  • OverEasy in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I recommend reserving a table on the deck outside overlooking Marina Bay. When it came to their choice of burgers, I went for the "To Die For" and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. The meat was juicy and cooked as requested. I enjoyed their special burger sauce in combination with the melted cheddar cheese. The chips were crispy and I really enjoyed the addition of rosemary and parmesan to enhance their flavour. A simple and satisfactory burger that comes with a great view.

  • The Black Swan in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant which is buzzing at lunch times during the week. Their set menu is a favourite of mine for working lunches and I tend to go for the Black Swan Burger when visiting towards the end of a busy week. They don't try to over complicate the burger and the ingredients they use are fresh and delicious, particularly the beef itself. Well worth visiting for this dish alone.

  • Berg's Burger in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

I've been to their Haji Lane branch a couple of times for a quick lunch time burger. They have a wide selection of gourmet burgers and I've tried both their Berg with Cheese, and their Miss Piggy. While both burgers satisfied my craving each time, I was not hugely impressed with the quality of their meat although I enjoyed their Berg's Sauce. I like the concept but have seen it done much better elsewhere.

  • Working Title in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

I like the indie/hippy vibe of this cafe and the eclectic mix of food and drinks on offer. I was keen to try their Eggs Benedict but decided on their Eggs Royale in the end as I'm not a big fan of turkey ham. I enjoyed the toasted focaccia base alongside the smoked salmon which was of decent quality. Unfortunately the poached eggs were of low quality and the hollandaise sauce was a little bland and frugally applied. I enjoyed the green salad but will not be rushing back for this particular dish.

  • Common Man Coffee Roasters in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

I'd been meaning to drop by Common Man Coffee Roasters for a while and was told to arrive in good time on Saturday morning to avoid a queue. Their Organic Eggs Benedict was beautifully presented. I really enjoyed the well poached organic eggs on the sourdough base. The addition of ox cheek is to be applauded for its originality but was a little too rich in taste for my liking at that time of the morning. The chive hollandaise sauce was good and I enjoyed the accompanying arugula salad.

  • Privé (Chijmes) in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

A couple of friends had recommended the Privé Eggs Benedict and so I was keen to see how it rated. The ham and streaky bacon on top of the toasted English muffin base were delicious. Both eggs were well poached to the point where the yoke remained a little runny and the flavours combined well with the rocket salad. The glazed hollandaise sauce was lacking a little in flavour which was really the only downside to what was otherwise very good dish.

  • Suprette in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

Not one of the best laid out Eggs Florentine I've been presented. I didn't enjoy the sachet of butter being thrown in with the dish. That aside, the potato and spinach base hidden beneath the poached eggs aided the overall flavours and I enjoyed the creamy hollandaise sauce. The generous serving of smoked salmon drizzled in lemon juice proved a tasty addition and the eggs were runny but of relatively low quality.

  • Forty Hands in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

I'm a big fan of Tiong Bahru and I'd been recommended Forty Hands by a brunch loving friend. I went for their Eggs Benedict with organic bacon and really enjoyed the addition of baby spinach leaves on their thin toasted muffin base. The eggs were of good quality but perhaps slightly under poached and a little too runny for my liking. I really liked the addition of diced roasted potatoes to mop up the egg yoke and hollandaise sauce but would have preferred them not to be as spicy.

  • Dimbulah (Chijmes) in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

I enjoyed the thinly toasted ciabatta base and the generous serving of delicious ham. Unfortunately both eggs were over poached to the point where the yoke was hard boiled. The hollandaise sauce had good consistency but not as full in flavour as I'd hoped. I enjoyed the side salad and the diced roasted potatoes but sadly that was not enough to make up for the disappointing lack of a runny yoke from the poached eggs.

  • The Missing Pan in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

I was torn between the two fantastic looking eggs benedict options on their menu and ended up going for their Salmon Gravlax Eggs Benedict. It was beautifully presented and made for a rich combination of flavours. The smoked salmon was really fresh and combined well with their home baked brioche and creamy hollandaise sauce. The eggs were of good quality and well poached with a runny yoke. I very much enjoyed the accompanying mixed salad that enhanced what was a very enjoyable experience.

  • Kith Cafe (Sentosa Cove) in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

Great venue which has a real holiday feel about it on a sunny morning and overlooks the Marina at Sentosa Cove. Their Blackstone Eggs Benedict had been recommended to me by a friend and it didn't disappoint. The eggs were well poached and of good quality with a runny orange yoke. I really enjoyed the novelty of placing both eggs on a roasted tomato. The crispy bacon was a fine addition along with the grilled asparagus on the side. Their hollandaise sauce rounded off an excellent breakfast.

  • Two Blur Guys in The Ultimate Guide to Burgers in Singapore

Their burgers are full of flavour and certainly hit the spot. I went for their Prime Beef Burger recently and found it to be a little too juicy / greasy for my liking; had to resort to knife and fork. I really liked their truffle mayonnaise and relish which certainly enhances the taste and would bring me back again. One of the better quick-turnaround gourmet burger offerings that I've come across in Singapore and I would definitely recommend to friends looking for inspiration on that front.

  • Open Door Policy in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

I was really excited to try their eggs benedict having seen their rather unusual green curry hollandaise on the menu. The dish was beautifully presented and while the sight of green hollandaise sauce might put off a traditionalist, I became even more intrigued. The eggs were poached perfectly and had a golden runny yoke. I really enjoyed the addition of poached chicken, spinach and diced tomatoes. The hollandaise sauce itself added a gentle wasabi zest to what was am amazing blend of flavours.

  • Skyve Wine Bistro in The Ultimate Guide to Eggs Benedict in Singapore

I went for the Salmon Polenta Eggs Benedict as I was intrigued to see how well the polenta base supported this traditional dish. Unfortunately I found the polenta a little lacking in flavour, too crumbly and extremely filling when served up with two thick pieces. I enjoyed the smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce but felt the eggs were a little under poached and not of great quality. Think I'd go for their other Eggs Benedict option next time.
