I am one who is particular about the doneness in every food that I order. We ordered medium, but the patty came well done, which probably explained why the steak was not juicy enough. I couldn't taste much of the beef flavour - something that i looking forward to. The egg came as a nice add on as I loveeeee eggs! The bacon was quite thick - something different from the usual - and this gave the burger more flavour, as you would have to spend more time chewing the bacon vs the patty and the bun.

We also had the Original db Burger. After trying a bite of the Frenchie, i expected this to be better than the former. However, I was not blown away by the taste as I was by the price tag ($42!). The beef patty encapsulated the short ribs and foie gras. The beef was cooked to medium doneness as ordered again, but could have done better with a bit more salt. The foie gras was a tad overcooked for my liking, which didn't add much to the flavour of the burger as I expected it to have sadly.

Tried two burgers on my last trip to db bistro - first, the Frenchie Burger. Took a bite into it and i was blown! I loved how the flavours of the pork confit gave the beef a subtle boost. The beef was flavourful and cooked to medium doneness as ordered. The caramelised onions also lent a slight sweetness to the burger. I enjoyed the thick cut fries that was served together (tasted like they added some chicken or beef seasoning to it). Definitely my burger of choice the next time I'm there!

The one other dish that is hard to fail is the Chicken Rice (warning: chicken rice is generally fattening). If you don't think ordering chicken rice is a good option (come on, we can get a plate for S$3 at our local hawker stalls), well think about it this way - sometimes it may turn out to be the best choice on the menu depending on which route you are flying. Feels like home, especially if you have been away from Asia for a long time.

While I am not a big fan of the sauce (i generally stay away from cream sauce as they make me fat lol), you can't go wrong with this one. The problem with the other BTC dishes is that there is a chance that they may turn out overcooked (in the case of red meats). Well frankly, for fish, even if it's overcooked, it's still edible per se.

Love the original glaze. Very strange that in Singapore, they don't give out free donuts like how they do overseas (i've been to outlets in US, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea & Dubai). Not that I am a scrooge, but sometimes I just stand around the counter and they will be giving out free full-sized original glazed (best ever) for the people who are standing around. I would be more enticed to buy more if that happened to me!

Can I suggest you give Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie or Awfully Chocolate's Hei ice cream a try. You won't regret! Those get a vote from me for best chocolate ice cream. For gelato, try Gelataria Italia for the Dark Rocher!

I just bought 1 box from Narita airport before boarding the plane to Singapore. :) Love them to bits!! Do note that they are made from fresh cream from Hokkaido, so they don't keep long (~1 month) and must be refridgerated.
